Airtight vs Teal
Teal is a large free career toolkit: a resume builder, a keyword matcher, a job tracker with contacts and email templates, a Chrome extension that bookmarks jobs from most boards, and a job search. Teal+ unlocks the full keyword list and unlimited AI. Airtight is narrower: it writes the documents for one posting from your history, checks every claim in them, and keeps the application on a board.
Facts about Teal were read from Teal’s own pages in September 2026. If something has changed, write to support@airtight.so and we will correct it.
Choose Teal if
- You want a free resume builder with no limit on how many resumes you make and export.
- You save jobs from LinkedIn, Indeed and other boards and want one place to bookmark them. Airtight has no browser extension.
- You want contact tracking and stage-based email templates in the tracker.
Choose Airtight if
- You want the resume and cover letter written for the posting, not a keyword list to work through by hand.
- You want every claim in the documents checked against what you actually did before you send them.
- You would rather pay once a month than weekly: Teal+ is $13 a week, which is more than Airtight's month over four weeks.
Side by side
| Airtight | Teal | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $29 a month, $69 a quarter, or $15 a week. One plan, everything included. | Teal+ is $13 a week, $29 a month or $79 a quarter. No yearly plan is published. |
| Free plan | Three complete applications free, forever, no card: fit check, resume, cover letter and prep sheet for each. The fit check on any posting is free and does not count. | Unlimited resumes and job tracking, ten templates, the top five keywords per posting, and a handful of AI credits (five bullets, two cover letters). |
| Resume for a posting | A resume and cover letter written for the posting from your own history, in the posting's terms, with every line traceable to something you did. | The Job Matcher shows which keywords are in your resume and which are missing; you add them, or have AI write a bullet for a keyword. Free users see a limited keyword list. |
| Claims checked against your history | Yes. After the documents are written, every employer, title, date and claim is checked against your history. Anything unsupported is flagged before you send; gaps are named, never filled. | No. The match is keyword based; nothing verifies that a line is true to your history. |
| Keyword and ATS check | Keyword coverage and structure check on every document, against the posting. | A Match Score against the posting and a resume score from the analyzer. The full list needs Teal+. |
| Job tracker | A board with Not sent, Applied, Interview, Offer and Closed. Rounds with dates, notes under each round, the documents and the fit check on the card. | Yes, free: stages with guidance and checklists, notes, contacts, attached resumes and email templates per stage. |
| Finding jobs | Roles crawled twice a day from company job boards (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, a remote feed and aggregators), scored against your history. Or paste any posting. | Its own job search built from company applicant tracking systems, with alerts, plus a Chrome extension that bookmarks jobs from any page. |
| Auto-apply | Never. You apply on the employer's site and click submit yourself. | No. Autofill fills forms; you review and submit. |
| Interview prep | A prep sheet per role: the fit check as an editable Word file, with every requirement, the evidence for it and how to position the gaps. | AI interview practice sessions (two free, unlimited on Teal+). |
| Refunds and cancelling | First payment refunded on request within 14 days (monthly and quarterly) or 48 hours (weekly). Cancel in two clicks. Nothing you made is taken away. | Refund requests within 2 days (weekly), 7 days (monthly) or 14 days (quarterly); approval is not guaranteed. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the billing period. |
Common questions
- Is Teal free?
- Teal's free plan includes the resume builder and job tracker with no limit, ten templates, the top five keywords for a posting and a small number of AI credits. The full keyword list, unlimited AI writing and interview practice need Teal+ at $13 a week, $29 a month or $79 a quarter.
- Does Teal write my resume for a job?
- Teal shows which keywords from the posting your resume has and which it is missing, and can write a bullet for a keyword with AI. You assemble the result. Airtight writes the whole resume and cover letter for the posting from your history, then checks every line.
- Which one checks that my resume is true?
- Airtight does: after the documents are written, every employer, title, date and claim is read back against your history and anything unsupported is flagged. Teal matches keywords and does not verify claims.
- Does either apply to jobs for me?
- No. Teal autofills application forms and you submit. Airtight never touches the employer's form: you apply yourself and mark it applied.
- Which is cheaper?
- Per month, Airtight is $29 and Teal+ is $29. Teal's weekly price of $13 works out to more than either over a month. Airtight's quarter is $69 against Teal's $79. Airtight's free plan is three complete applications; Teal's is unlimited resume building with limited AI.
