The 5 best AI resume tools in 2026, ranked by a founder who tried them all
I'm M. I built Airtight during my own job search, after trying the tools below, so no, this list is not neutral. What I can do is score everything the same way, write the weights down, take every price and feature from the product's own pages (September 2026, links on each comparison page) and say where a rival is the better buy. For some people two of them are.

How the ranking was made
Five things, weighted. The weights are mine and you can argue with them. I think whether a tool writes for the actual posting, and whether what it writes is true, matter more than how many templates it has or what score it prints. If price matters most to you, or you just want a free builder, Teal wins and I say so below.

Where it is not the pick
No browser extension, so you cannot clip a job from LinkedIn in one click; Huntr and Teal both do that. Job discovery is deepest in software, data, product and design. And if what you want is a free builder with no limits, that is Teal, not us.

The tailoring says it uses only what is in your resume. There is no separate check that reads the result back against your history.

Best for: An ATS match report against a posting, and auto-apply with review.

- You want applications drafted for you at volume and are happy to approve each one. Airtight will never fill an employer's form.
- You only need a few scans a month: five are free.

No. The optimizer adds missing skills; nothing checks that the result is true to what you did.

- Premium is $49.95 a month or $89.95 every three months (with a seven-day trial on the quarterly plan). Auto Apply credits are extra beyond two a month.
